AOL Moviefone has posted the trailer for Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, the sequel to 2004’s surprise hit comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.
You can watch the teaser trailer here after the jump; also, the film’s official site has an age-restricted trailer.
John Cho and Kal Penn return as the lovable stoners, but this time around, they are chased by the Department of Homeland Security for being suspected terrorists after boarding a plane to Amsterdam. Neil Patrick Harris reprises his role as himself.
New Line Cinema’s Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay hits theaters April 25, 2008.
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle screenwriters Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg also wrote the screenplay for the sequel and will make their director debut on the film.
I don’t get Kal Penn. He seems like a super intelligent guy who makes me think he CAN act (see: The Namesake), then he turns around and keeps up doing stuff like “this”. Don’t get me wrong, I get a chuckle out of this trailer, but it’s one of those movies that by all rites looks as if it should be a direct-to-video release…
Against my better judgement, I watched and LOVED the first flick… if they manage to recreate that magic (as opposed to Dude, Where’s My Car, where the funniest joke was the title), I’m sure I’ll hate myself for loving this too.
NeverWanderer, I totally agree with you. I enjoyed the 1st one and got me laughing hard in many of the scenes. It was downright dumb but entertains and that is what movies is supposed to do.
Can’t wait for the 2nd one and I do hope it retains all its charm and jokes.
Mark, what Karl is doing is called ‘acting’. You do not want an actor to act only in one kind of movie do you? A versatile actor is a rich actor, and I am not talking about money here. Many others have tried but w/o much success (Carrey, Ferrel, Martin ) to do both, comedy and drama.

Oh! Got this idea after watching the trailer..
The duo, in jail, while collecting their meal during lunch time, shd ask for a ‘Spoon’ cause all they have is just a fork.
So Harold started to ask around ‘ I need Spoon’ . Then all other prisoners stand up and que behind them….now that is funny!!!
