Danny Elfman To Score ‘The Wolfman’
  |  @   |

Universal told AICN that Danny Elfman will be taking care of the score for the upcoming new version of The Wolfman, which stars Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Anthony Hopkins, and Hugo Weaving. It’s directed by Joe Johnston.

I’m not 100% sure what to expect in this announcement as the footage I saw didn’t really seem like an Elfman project, but I think so long as it’s not Beetlejuice-y, it could be good. Maybe more along the lines of Big Fish and Edward Scissorhands?

The movie is slated for an April 3, 2009 release.

For those who haven’t seen the sneaky footage, check it out below.

  1. If you think that Beetlejuice, Big Fish and Edward Scissorhands tells the story of what Danny Elfman can do, I really recommend you pick up a copy of Music for a Darkened Theatre- Volume 2. He has had his hands on so many projects, most that would surprise some people, that it is hard not to give him credit for being versatile. Yes, he has a style, but he has masked it well in such scores as To Die For, Delores Claiborne and Black Beauty. And if you want to hear something that isn’t even remotely Elfman-ish, check out Sommersby. The man has skills, don’t sell him short.
