With a mediocre summer now behind them, Fox Studios are apparently planning a strategy meeting to assess the future of its superhero properties. Being the only studio not to have a movie gross over $100 million in the summer (its closest was What Happens in Vegas at $80.2), and with the superhero genre being the flavor of the month, it would seem like the wisest choice.
But Fox are coming up against a lot of opposition.
First of all is the lawsuit against Warner Bros., revolving around Fox’s attempt to halt the release of Watchmen next March. Fanboys and girls across the planet are threatening to boycott Fox films, such as the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine, if Fox continue through with their threat.
But Fox has a much larger problem at hand. Whereas WB has the full DC catalog of stars available to them to make movies (granted, it’s not as if they’re doing anything with them), Fox has only a few properties, including the X-Men and Daredevil. This is due to Marvel’s decision to branch out on its own, a decision which has definitely paid off.
So it’s no surprise that experts are predicting Fox will look to make more X-Men Origins spin-offs, as well as a possible Young X-Men movie. They also suggest that Fox might spin-off a Deadpool movie, focusing on Ryan Reynolds character in Wolverine, as well as the possibility of relaunching Daredevil.
But Fox can only go so long without finding a new source of superheroes. Maybe a partnership with Image would be on the cards, if they could see their way past their attachment to Marvel. Sure, I’d love to see an X-Men Origins: Nightcrawler as much”¦ you get the point, right?
I COULD GO FOR A WEAPON X MOVIE BASED ON THE RECENT STORYLINE.

In a perfect world, all the studios would put aside their differences and do one monster of a Civil War movie- that would be sweet!
Since that will never happen, I’d like to see a Runaways or Exiles movie. At least with the Exiles, you could get a couple of movies out of the storyline.
