New ‘Inglorious Bastards’ Set Photos
  |  @   |

The Tarantino Archives has obtained some pictures from the set of Inglorious Bastards.

The pictures are mainly of the farmhouse that will be used in the film. There’s also a picture of a piece of paper that has the very odd spelling of the film as “Inglourious Basterds,” which I doubt they’re actually using; seems more like one of those inside-joke deals amongst the crew, I would think.

If you’re one of the many who has read the script, you’ll know the first 15-20 minutes involve this farmhouse and you’ll see that it’s nothing short of perfect-looking.

I’m taking this as a sign of very good things to come.

As we know, this latest Quentin Tarantino film is packed with come great casting. Diane Kruger (Troy, National Treasure 1&2) was cast recently as German film star Bridget Von Hammersmark, a role once thought to be going to Nastassja Kinski and which has an important role in the film.

There’s also a few relatively unknowns — Christoph Waltz and Paul Rust. Waltz is a big German actor who will be playing a huge role in Col. Hans Landa that was once supposedly offered to Leonardo DiCaprio. Rust will be joining Bastards Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, B.J. Novak, Mike Myers, and Samm Levine to take down the Nazis.

I like Kruger and this seems like a great role for her and I think I’d pick her over Kinski as well. On the other side — knowing the part was originally looking at Leo DiCaprio — I’m hoping Waltz becomes one of those unknowns that really blows you away, but I’m nervous because I have no idea who he is and what he can do. Having read the first scene, I can assure you this Col. Landa role might just require a brilliant performance.
