Newest Victim Of A CGI Makeover: ‘Tom and Jerry’
  |  @   |

That wacky cat and mouse duo that most of use remember from our childhoods, Tom and Jerry will be the next classic cartoon characters to be forced into a computer and delivered on the other side as life-like computer animated creatures.

Other well-known characters that have gone CG are Underdog, Garfield, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. None of which succeeded in their endeavors.

The storyline will apparently show the origins of Tom and his bestest friend, Jerry; where they met and how their feud began. Eventually the two become lost in Chicago and need to find a way to work together in order to get home.

The movie is being written by Eric Gravning and produced by Dan Lin.

My big question here is, will they have a goofy half-cartoony, half-realistic look like Garfield, will they be actual animals with animated mouths like Underdog, or will they mostly realistic and adorable like those precious little chipmunks? There’s no way that this can work, but their best bet is definitely making sure they look as close as possible to the originals. Also curious is, are they planning on actually voicing Tom and Jerry? I don’t recall those crazy animals saying much to anyone at any particular time, so that would make it a little… useless.

Don’t ask why I even bother wondering these things. I give up on humanity.

  2. Sounds just like the plot from the old theatrical animated Tom and Jerry movie that poped up some time around the Jetsons movie. But wait it gets worse! Yogi Bear and BooBoo are on the way as sort live action as well! Alvin and the Chipmunks actually did well thats why these others are on the way. I wonder how long it will be till we are meanaced with a live action Jabber Jaw?
