Watch Now: 2 Minutes From Tim Burton Produced ‘9’
  |  @   |

If you haven’t seen the trailer for Shane Acker‘s 9, well, then you should immediately go watch it first. You can watch both the trailer as well as the original short film for which the feature movie is based by peeking at our earlier coverage of it (Read: Check Out The Original Short Film & Trailer For ‘9’ Right Now).

After you’ve checked those sweet morsels out, we can now move on to a new two-minute clip from the movie which has been released exclusively through MTV Movies Blog. The clip can be seen below.

9 is made by a visual super-team including producers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and director Shane Acker, who also created the short. That’s one very cool bit about this project, is that they let the man who started it actually captain the whole movie.

Here’s the movie’s official synopsis, in case you missed it.

When 9 (The Lord of the Ring’s Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.

The movie also stars John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and Crispin Glover. It’s written by Pamela Pettler, who wrote other great animated flicks like Corpse Bride and Monster House.

9 will be released on 09-09-2009.
