The young stars of the new Star Trek film, which opened in theaters this weekend, made an appearance last night on Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update.

Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine — the new respective Spock and Kirk — joined a segment of Weekend Update to defend the new movie and themselves against angry “Trekkies” offended by the film’s advertising, which touts “This is not your father’s Star Trek.”
