Contest: ‘Land Of The Lost’ Prize Pack
  |  @   |

It’s Land of the Lost, people!

This is one of those shows that I grew up watching and for some strange reason just loving it to death. As far as I’m concerned Land of the Lost is geek T.V. personified. And yeah, I knew just how cheesy it was even then, but that didn’t hamper my enjoyment one bit. I have to admit that I thought watching the SciFi channel’s Land of the Lost marathon the other day might accidentally open my eyes to some kind of ‘wrongness’ about my feelings for it but I gotta say after all these years I STILL love Land of the Lost. Sue me. :P

With the Will Ferrell headed redux heading to theaters this week I’m actually kinda excited… and now it’s time for YOU to get excited too, because we here at Geeks of Doom are giving away a rowboat full of Land of the Lost schwag to two lucky readers!

About

Space-time vortexes suck.

Will Ferrell stars as has-been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, sucked into one and spat back through time. Way back. Now, Marshall has no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world””a place of spectacular sights and super-scaled comedy known as the Land of the Lost.

Sucked alongside him for the adventure are crack-smart research assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist (Danny McBride) named Will. Chased by T. rex and stalked by painfully slow reptiles known as Sleestaks, Marshall, Will and Holly must rely on their only ally””a primate called Chaka (Jorma Taccone)””to navigate out of the hybrid dimension. Escape from this routine expedition gone awry and they’re heroes. Get stuck, and they’ll be permanent refugees in the Land of the Lost.

Based on the classic television series created by Sid & Marty Krofft, Land of the Lost is directed by Brad Silberling and produced by Jimmy Miller and Sid & Marty Krofft.

  1. I didn’t think “Land of the Lost” was a BAD movie. Some aspects of it were refreshing. For example, I liked the cinematography a lot… like during the dinosaur chase scenes, it kinda felt real because of the shaky Cloverfieldish camera perspectives. And although it wasn’t the funniest movie ever, it did have its moments. Anyway, nice post. ;)
