Fans of Marvel’s X-Men line have a lot to be excited about after the panel held Friday at San Diego Comic-Con. The big announcement of the panel was an image showing Magento’s return in a storyline titled “Nation X.” The story begins in September, and will run in the pages of Uncanny X-Men. Writer Matt Fraction said that this storyline will be used to make the X-Men a more cohesive line, and that the story has been building up since at least issue #500. The other big news is an upcoming crossover between X-Force, New Mutants, and X-Men Legacy, which will be titled Necrosha and will deal with Selene bringing back a number of dead mutants and attacking the teams.

There will be an unexpected ending to the Dark Avengers/X-Men: Utopia miniseries.

Issue 50 of X-Factor will bring the current year long story to a close. Writer Peter David also said that readers should expect the current romance between Madrox and Layla Miller will cool off, and says that he always wants the characters the take two steps back for every one step forward when it comes to relationships. He also said that readers would see some big developments with Strong Guy, and also that he would get into Shatterstar’s parents, especially with Longshot being on the team. There was also a comment made that seemed to say that Rahne may be back in the pages of X-Factor.

The next story arc of Jason Aaron‘s Weapon X will have Wolverine in an insane asylum where he has to deal with evil doctors as he tries to sort out his life. The story will feature covers by Adam Kubert.

After Deadpool #900, the next story arc in Deadpool will be titled “Want you to want me” and will show how Deadpool deals with trying to be a hero, and will see him try to join the X-men.

Daniel Acuna will be handling the art on X-Men Legacy starting in September.

There will be a Domino/Wolverine miniseries written by Chris Yost and Craig Kyle. The release hasn’t been scheduled yet.

Finally, it was revealed that there are plans for more Pete Milligan/Mike Allred X-Statics stories, which the crowd was quite happy about.
