Want To See A Little Sample Of What A CGI Smurf Looks Like?
  |  @   |

We’ve all come to terms with the fact that any old cartoons we grew up with and love will eventually receive an updated CGI makeover and a run on the Silver Screen. So many have already been through this process — Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield, and Marmaduke, to name a few — and none have been very well-accepted…so far.

Another of these CGI re-inventions is of everyone’s favorite little blue creatures: The Smurfs, and while it is very grainy and black and white, UGO has gotten their hands on the first peek of what our dearest Smurfs will look like in computerized form. I personally did not see it when it happened, but apparently a posted leaked a while back for the movie, and that had a Smurf on it as well, but the two look nothing alike.

Continue on to the bottom of the post to check out this first image of what we can expect to see in The Smurfs.

Not much is known about the movie itself and what it will be about, but apparently it will use the same method of computer animating the Smurfs themselves and placing them in a live-action world so that some respected actor gave lose a chunk of their soul to play Gargamel.
