UPDATED! ‘Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ Developer Infinity Ward Taken By Force? Studio Heads Missing?
  |  @   |

**UPDATED BELOW**

Some strange and interesting breaking news being reported by G4 tonight. Apparently right this moment as you read this, Infinity Ward has been taken over by a bunch of “bouncer-type” security sorts who refused to disclose who they were or why they were there.

None of the employees of Infinity Ward seem to have any clue why this is happening or who’s behind it, but everyone there is naturally concerned and worried about what is actually going on. To make matters even worse for the employees, apparently studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West had a meeting with Activision earlier this morning, but have not been seen or heard from since then.

This is such an odd and random situation, one must wonder what’s going on. Is something severely wrong at the video game developer’s building? Is some sort of messed up mass prank being pulled off a month early? Are they trying to sell a game with extreme methods? Answers are sought by many who are concerned.

Infinity Ward is of course best known for their work on the Call of Duty series, which delivered us two of the most popular video games of all-time in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

UPDATE: While solid details of the matter are not fully revealed yet, it does appear that Activision has some extreme methods in employee relations.

In a report filed by the company, it was indicated that two of Infinity Ward’s senior employees were involved in “breaches of contract and insubordination.”

This likely points to the above-mentioned Zampella and West. West confirmed on his Facebook page that he was now unemployed, and it is assumed that Zampella has met the same sort of strange fate.

It is unknown exactly what they did to breach their contracts, but this is not the first time that Activision’s methods have been curious and questionable. Even Tim Schafer, god of video gamedom and creator of recent hit Brütal Legend, has had troubles with the company, and said on his Twitter account that “Getting mad at Activision for this kind of thing is like getting mad at an ape for throwing feces. It’s just how the beast communicates.”

Well, considering that our article was at 11pm last night and the one you linked was from 9:30am this morning, I’d say it was indeed hard to find out at the time of our publishing.
