Jon Favreau Reveals Harrison Ford Has Joined ‘Cowboys & Aliens’
  |  @   |

Back on April 5th, director Jon Favreau dropped a tiny little teaser note on Twitter that some juicy casting news would be coming in regards to his upcoming adaptation of the comic book Cowboys & Aliens.

Before that, Latino Review had heard whispers that Harrison Ford was actually joining the cast of a big comic book movie and put the two pieces together. Nothing was official at that point, but Mr. Favreau has finally confirmed once again via his Twitter account that Indiana Jones has definitely joined his movie.

Favreau’s big reveal was simple and straight to the point, as 140-characters can sometimes force you to be. “Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody,” he said.

The movie was initially set to star Robert Downey Jr., re-pairing him immediately with Favreau after their completion of Iron Man 2, but unfortunately Downey Jr. ultimately had to remove himself from the project. The last we heard, current James Bond Daniel Craig was in negotiations to step up and take on the lead role.

Synopsis

Set in 1800s Arizona, a skirmish between cowboys and Apaches is interrupted by the crash landing of a space ship. The alien commander plans to tame the Old West and enslave everyone, but the cowboys and Native Americans turn their six-guns against the alien invaders.

Cowboys & Aliens is written by Transformers and Star Trek duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as well as Lost main man Damon Lindelof. It is based on the comic by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.

  1. Sweet! This should be a lot of fun. I’m gonna miss Robert Downey Jr. That guy’s always a blast. But Favreau and Harrison Ford will probably make an awesome team together. I’m sure this is gotta be a wet dream for Favreau. :D
