Listen Now: TARDIS Blend 002 Webcast – ‘Doctor Who’ Season 5 Premiere

As Doctor Who fans, we ought to adopt a new mantra that is so universally accepted it can even be printed on currency: “In Moffat We Trust”.

Moffat, as an author of The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace, and Blink episodes. And now, Steven Moffat is the new lead writer and show runner on the fifth season of Doctor Who, starring Matt Smith as the eleventh actor to portray the Time Lord on television.

Still, despite a track record of producing iconic Who episodes, some remain quite skeptical of the new Doctor: He’s quite a bit younger than previous versions. He wears tweed jackets and bow ties. And this is a drastic change, which people generally do not like.

So while I can see why someone might disagree with my logic, I’ll just assume they haven’t seen the debut episode, The Eleventh Hour, which debuted in America on Saturday.

Of course, I had already seen the episode twice since BBC America did multiple screenings on a large projection screen among hundreds of Who fans at both WonderCon 2010 and C2E2 2010. I cannot begin to express how greatly an audience enhanced this experience.

Join myself and human library of Whovian knowledge Mr. Greg Davies on TARDIS Blend episode 002, our new weekly webcast about Doctor Who. This week we proceed to explain why the new Doctor Who creative team not only lives up to the ultra high expectations left by David Tennant and Russell T. Davies, but far exceeds them. We also make some predictions about this season (Will Jack Harkness show up? What, if anything, from the previous four seasons will pop up during Matt Smith’s first run in the Tardis?).

Listen to it now via SocialBlend and let us know what you think.

  1. This new Doctor is actually really good, I have already forgotten David Tennant, it was a seamless transition.
