AMC Releases First Rick Grimes Set Photo From ‘The Walking Dead’

It is a good time to be a zombie fan and a Robert Kirkman fan, with AMC’s upcoming adaptation of The Waking Dead. We have already been treated to plenty of zombie photos and seen a lot of the images that show the way the make-up will be for the zombies. Well it is finally time to see how Andrew Lincoln fits into the role of Rick Grimes in his newly released set photo, which you can see here below.

Robert Kirkman definitely enjoys the pictures and even ventures to say that he is the embodiment of what he has thought about for the Grimes character for the entirety of The Walking Dead.

I really have enjoyed all of the pictures of the zombies and their look thus far. I definitely still feel that way after taking a look at Lincoln in his set photo. I think he fits fairly well for the look of Grimes.

The comic works so well in black and white, I wonder how it will translate into color. I almost wish that the series would be in black and white. If anybody who has read the comic book series disagrees with me, please let me know in the comments section. But, I really feel like it will be very odd to see this play in such a different medium especially with the addition of color.

All that being said no matter what they do with it I will definitely be watching all 6 episodes just to see how they translate and if the stories still holds true to the comics. I also can’t wait to see if each episode will cover the length of one issue or if it will have to take multiple comic issues for each episode.

So just go ahead and check out the photo below and leave your thoughts below in the comments section. I hope everyone else is as excited as I am and Kirkman has been quoted to be.

Robert Kirkman, creator/writer of the comic and executive producer on the series says: “Writing this book for the past seven years I’ve gotten very close to the character of Rick. Andrew Lincoln embodies every aspect of the character that fans know and love. After seeing this photo I don’t think that there will be a doubt in anyone’s mind that he’s perfect for the role.”

  1. It’s going to be odd to see it not animated and in color for me, I hope they do one per comic book since each has good storyline. I haven’t heard of a release date but hopefully soon we’ll get to see it! I can’t wait to watch it…
