‘X-Men: First Class’ Cast Update; Kevin Bacon To Play Villain?
  |  @   |

The cast for Matthew Vaughn‘s adaptation of the comic book series X-Men: First Class has been moving at a furious pace lately, with new announcements and rumors popping up left and right.

Things began with a couple of big bangs with the announcements that James McAvoy would be playing a young Professor Xavier and Michael Fassbender would be playing a young Magneto.

After that, casting moved on to the actors who would be taking on youthful versions of many popular X-Men characters. We first heard that Benjamin Walker would be playing Beast in the movie, but that has since changed when he decided it would be better to stick with playing Andrew Jackson on Broadway. Interesting choice, no doubt. It has since been revealed that Nicholas Hoult would be taking his place in the role. Hoult has appeared in movies like About a Boy, Clash of the Titans, and the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road.

Other up and coming actors who have been cast in the film include Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League) as Emma Frost, Caleb Landry Jones (The Last Exorcism) as Banshee, and Lucas Till (The Spy Next Door) as Havoc.

Now comes news of perhaps the most interesting casting of the lot. It may not be the best, but it will definitely catch your eye. Deadline is reporting that none other than Kevin Bacon has been offered, and is now in negotiations to take on the role of a villain in First Class. Unfortunately, it is currently unknown which villain Bacon would be playing.

What do you think of the quick-forming cast of X-Men: First Class so far?

  1. I’m not sure what to think. Will they have Iceman and Angel since they were in the later movies as kids? Why are they having Havoc? He and Scott were separated as kids and didn’t meet until they were adults.

I like the castings they have for Xavier and Mageto and the casting of Kevin Bacon may work out well too, but I have no idea what character he may play. This movie has a lot to make up for too, considering how bad the last two X-Men movies were (Wolverine and X3)…
