Tonight was Preview Night at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, and yes, the Geeks of Doom crew was there in full-force.
Below are a bunch of photos we took from the convention floor.
Of note was the Marvel booth, a massive area for sure, half taken up by a recreation of Odin’s Throne in Asgard from their upcoming film Thor (see the Thor movie still of Odin’s Throne HERE).
There’s also a few shots of the Legendary Pictures booth, which showed off some costumes and props from The Dark Knight and Inception, as well as The Hangover (the pic from the latter film is truly a must-see).
A show-stopper at the Con was definitely the areas set up for The Walking Dead TV show, coming soon to AMC, which had a house filled with bloodied corpses in it. Pretty cool.
Rivaling The Walking Dead area was the Tron Legacy booth, which had a massive line of fans waiting to purchase some collectibles and light-up shirts.
A few blocks away from the convention is a place called “Flynns” which we hear is currently being converted into an arcade (there was a Flynn’s Arcade set up last year too, which was an old school arcade that contained a secret passageway which led to a room that showcased a life-sized Light Cycle with rider).
Rounding up our photo gallery are some shots of massive LEGO recreations for Toy Story 3 and Harry Potter; the Ghostbusters Ectomobile; and some collectibles for Star Wars, Avatar, and even Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Oh and a $65 figure of Galactus that a certain person I live with wants to take home with us.
The convention floor was seriously packed, difficult to maneuver, and quite exhausting, but there’s no doubt that there was massive excitement in the air and lots of eager fans out there. We’ll have some video for you soon we took of our reactions to Preview Night.
SDCC continues tomorrow (7/22) and lasts through Sunday (7/25). Keep it here at Geeks of Doom, as we’ll be bringing you all the news and highlights from the convention.
My new novella “Soldier of the Brell†is just about to be released as an e-book download from the Xlibris site. I will also make it available on the IPAD, Amazon’s Kindle, the Sony Reader and other E-readers.

I wish I could be there at the SDCC, especially the Marvel exhibit. Although I hadn’t realised Odin’s throne was taking up so much room.
