SDCC 2010: Marvel Comics ‘X-Men’ Panel

X-Men fans united on last weekend for the Marvel Comics X-Men panel at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, where the comics company discussed what will happen in the X-Men titles in the next few months.

Of course being that Second Coming just finished, the consequences of the event were discussed as well as the upcoming event Curse of the Mutants and a little bit of what is involved in this event.

The biggest thing that Marvel wanted to talk about was the reboot of all the Wolverine family books. Wolverine is starting over at issue #1 and the Wolverine Weapon X writer Jason Aaron will be writing it. Oh I know what you’re going to say, what is happening to Daken? Well, don’t worry, Dark Wolverine will be a separate series starting over at #1 as well. X-23 will also start a new ongoing series as well which has only been miniseries thus far and Marjorie Liu will be working on it as well.

A new Wolverine book you ask? Well ask no more Wolverine: The Best There Is is going to be hitting stands in December 2010. It will be written by Charlie Houston and art by Juan Jose Ryp and it will not be harping on Logan’s past and will actually only look toward the future. You want more new titles? Well how about a Rick Remender book with art by Jerome Opena? Sounds awesome to me, so I will definitely be picking up Uncanny X-Force when it starts up in October of this year.

Then we have the Sworn to Protect title that will take the X-Men and team them up with other Marvel characters like the Fantastic Four or the Avengers and many more, which will start up in January 2011.

The final book that was discussed was Generation Hope by Matt Fraction, which will be coming in November of this year. Fraction said it would mostly cover the 5 new X-Men introduced in Second Coming and how Hope helps them come to grips with being a mutants.

I am excited about most of it even though there is a bit of an over saturation of X-Men books, still I guess that will never change though.

Well, enjoy X-Men fans, SNIKT!
