20th Century Fox has revealed some news that should be happy music to the ears of fans of the 1975 ultimate cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s been announced that the movie will finally be getting its very own Blu-ray release this upcoming October 19.

The movie tells the story of a couple named Brad and Janet (Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick) who get lost in the rain and end up taking shelter at Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s (Tim Curry) castle, where things might just be a little bit more strange than the couple may have anticipated.

  1. And once again they’ve overlooked “The Rocky Horror Treatment,” “Backstory,” “Rocky Horror 25,” “VH1 Behind the Music” and tons of other stuff that coulda/shoulda been included. Typical. And chances are they’ve nixed the mono soundtrack (which is vastly superior to every subsequent mix) in favor of 7.1 audio. It’d be nice if studios would ask for input from fans on what to include on their countless special edition re-releases.

  2. I wonder if this will also be released as a straight DVD. That booklet looks pretty cool. We’ll probably just download it.
