Neil Marshall’s ‘Centurion’ Gets A Comic Book Style Poster By Simon Bisley
  |  @   |

Magnolia Pictures has released a brand new poster for Neil Marshall‘s Centurion, and they reached out to famed British comic book artist Simon Bisley to create the unique and original work.

The movie stars 300 actors Michael Fassbender and Dominic West, as well as Hitman and Quantum of Solace star Olga Kurylenko. It tells the story of a Roman Centurion soldier who gets caught behind enemy lines with a small band of troops after their Ninth Legion was ambushed and their leader taken. So far we’ve seen a few images and trailers (Read: Neil Marshall’s ‘Centurion’ Gets A Red Band Trailer & New Poster ), but this new poster certainly gets points for uniqueness. It’s not often you see a full-on comic book illustration created for a live-action film, and it works well.

The movie will be released on August 27, 2010, and is already available on available VOD, VUDU, Playstation Network, Xbox Marketplace, and Amazon. Click on over to the other side now to check out the new poster by Simon Bisley!

Official Synopsis

AD 117. The Roman Empire stretches from Egypt to Spain , and East as far as the Black Sea . But in northern Britain , the relentless onslaught of conquest has ground to a halt in face of the guerrilla tactics of an elusive enemy: the savage and terrifying tribes known as the Picts.

Quintus, sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier fort, marches north with General Virilus’ legendary Ninth Legion, under orders to wipe the Picts from the face of the earth and destroy their leader Gorlacon.

But when the legion is ambushed on unfamiliar ground, and Virilus taken captive, Quintus faces a desperate struggle to keep his small platoon alive behind enemy lines, evading remorseless Pict pursuers over harsh terrain, as the band of soldiers race to rescue their General, and to reach the safety of the Roman frontier.

From writer/director, Neil Marshall, CENTURION is a gripping survival thriller set against a background of conquest and invasion; a pursuit movie in the vein of Deliverance, Last of the Mohicans and Apocalypto.
