An extended trailer for AMC’s The Walking Deadpremiered last month at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, offering up a first look at the upcoming series.
That trailer, which runs over four minutes, is now online. Watch it here below!
Also, AMC has announced that the series debut, which will be 90 minutes long, will air on Halloween night, Sunday, October 31, 2010, at 10PM ET & PT/9 PM C, during the network’s annual marathon of thriller and horror films, Fearfest. Later episodes of The Walking Dead will be an hour long.
The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore, is written and directed by Frank Darabont, and stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, and Jeffrey DeMunn.
The footage from this trailer introduces us to police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who’s shot while on duty and ends up in the hospital. After weeks in a coma, he awakens to find that there’s been a zombie apocalypse, where hordes of undead roam the streets in search of human flesh. Unaware of what’s been happening since his injury, Rick sets out looking for his wife and son, not knowing what to expect.
So far, the AMC series seems to be very faithful to the comic book, so I’m really looking forward to catching the first episode on Halloween!
