Get 200 Free Microsoft Points
  |

Microsoft is really trying to push the Bing search engine, and you my friends, can take advantage of it.

Currently Microsoft is giving away 250 Bing rewards points. I myself will never use Bing enough to build up points to buy anything cool. However, you can buy 100 Microsoft Points with 100 Bing rewards points. Thus netting yourself a cool 200 Microsoft Points that you can use either in the Xbox Live Marketplace or Zune Marketplace. I like free stuff.

A couple caveats. One, you have to download and install the Bing toolbar. The other is that supposedly it only works with Internet Explorer 7 or higher; however, I just used Firefox and got my free points just fine. I think I’ll buy a nice warm jacket for my avatar, winter is right around the corner after all.

You can get in on the freeness here.

  1. But the bad thing is that it apparently takes 8-12 weeks to get the points delivered to your doorstep (which can only be in the US). 8-12 weeks for a digital download ¬¬
    :(

Other than that, thanks a lot for the tip! It’s free!

  2. I got 275 Bing Points just for downloading, clicking a bunch of random links they had under the rewards page, and using the bar to search the alphabet. They’ve got other cool stuff on there too, it just costs a lot more. Limited to 10 points a day excluding offers.

But hey, free shit is free shit.

  3. You don’t have to download a thing. It works with firefox. xbox points are awarded almost instantly via e-mail.
