Get Your First Look At The New ‘Silver Surfer’!

The Silver Surfer is one of those characters that has had trouble carrying his own series. He’s a fantastic guest star in other comics but he just hasn’t found enough popularity to carry a full series in a long time. J. Michael Straczynski killed the tortured ex-herald of Galactus off in a dramatic short run called Requiem and he was entertaining in the Annihilation event too. The Surfer may be one of those characters that’s just best suited to short stories and guest appearances.

Marvel is Surfing With The Alien once more with a 5-issue story from New York Times bestselling author Greg Pak and artist Stephen Segovia. In this story the wielder of the power cosmic returns to Earth and will face the High Evolutionary. As always Marvel is promising a game changing epic story.

Here are some early images from the upcoming story, which begins in February with Silver Surfer #1!

  1. The Surfer carried his own book for over 10 years. So he hasn’t had all that much trouble carrying his own book.

  2. @David

Modern audiences and the industry aren’t what they used to be. Silver Surfer books have been stop & go for the last 20 years or so.

That said, I think he’s one of the best characters ever created, with possibly the best origin in comics, so any time he makes an appearance, I’m stoked.
