Legendary guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen joined the musical group The Roots on Thursday’s episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

The guitarist shreds his way through the entire episode, which you can watch here below.

Malmsteen was on the show promoting his latest album Relentless, which was released this past November; he’s also on the cover of this month’s Guitar Player magazine.

Aside from the Yngwie goodness (listen closely and you’ll hear some Yngwie classics like “Black Star”), the episode is hilarious. There’s tons of back and forth with Fallon and follow SNL alum Dana Carvey, who’s hosting this week’s Saturday Night Live.
