More Map Pack Love For ‘Halo: Reach’
  |

Microsoft announced that another map pack will be released for Halo: Reach, called the Defiant map pack. This map pack costs 800 Microsoft points (or $10) and will be released in March.

A video trailer was also released that you can peep at here below.

The maps look pretty good, and the footage, especially at the beginning showing Firefight on Unearthed, makes me want to go play right now!

Let’s break down the three maps.

Highlands is the biggest of the three maps. It is located in a wilderness preserve that was used as a training facility. This map is for larger games, of 8 to 16 players. Seems to be a great map for jet packs, getting on top of buildings, sniping, the whole thing.

Condemned is a normal-sized map, suitable for games of up to 12 players. It is set in an orbital space station. These maps always come out cool. Inside here, no real use for jetpacks, maybe a little armor locking is in order?

The last map is Unearthed. This map is out at a titanium mine, and from the looks is my favorite map. On this map you can play Firefight and…. Wait you can only do Firefight here? Those of us without a hard drive can’t even do that? Weird.

So ten bucks for three maps, well two multiplayer maps and one for firefight (which I know is multiplayer, but not the same). Feels like I’m getting less and less in these map packs. I like that there is a lot of variety in the maps that are coming though, making players change up their strategy depending on their surroundings. I’m still bummed they never fixed the issue with not being able to play Firefight without a hard drive. You can play Zombies on Black Ops without one. Just still smells fishy, and no I haven’t gotten over it.

Don’t worry though, I will. Will these new maps make you put down Call of Duty and play Reach some more?
