If you have a laptop, iPad, or other digital device and you like to do some reading with your morning coffee, Starbucks is now giving you the chance to read some Marvel comics while you sip.
According to Starbucks, the franchise has added Marvel comics to its Starbucks Digital Network on their Entertainment Channel, which will give customers unlimited, free access to the full library of Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. So, while in line a Starbucks, you’ll be able to sample some Marvel books for free while you wait.
The service will launch on April 23, 2011.
Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine and others await to captivate as customers explore the comic realm and imagine fighting villains with a cup of coffee in hand.
What does this all mean? It means that Marvel has found a very smart way to get its books in front of more people. I don’t think I need to explain that a lot of people get their morning joe at Starbucks, and this is a lot of potential viewers who will be exposed to their books. Since the Starbucks service is free, you have to assume that a lot more readers will be willing to take a chance on the books. Now if only Marvel can find a way to funnel some of these new readers onto their app to buy the books, they would really have something going.
