Happy 60th Birthday Ace Frehley!
space
Obi-Dan   |

Today, April 27, 2011, legendary original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley celebrates his 60th birthday!

KISS has long been one of my favourite bands of all time. The original Frehley-era albums including Dressed To Kill and Destroyer are some of the greatest I have ever heard, owing a lot to Frehley’s colourful guitar work. During this period KISS also produced two of the greatest live rock albums of all time in Alive! and Alive II.

In 1978, the four original KISS members recorded solo albums. Ace’s has always been far and away my favourite. His version of “New York Groove” gets better with every listen (and there have been many) and is guaranteed to put a smile on my face.

So happy birthday from all of us here at Geeks of Doom, Spaceman. May there be many more.
