Conan The Barbarian

The first full-length trailer for Conan the Barbarian is now online.

Watch it here below.

The new movie, directed by Marcus Nispel, is based on the universe created by Robert E. Howard and is a remake of the 1982 film that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the title barbarian. The teaser trailer released last month left a lot to be desired, but now the longer theatrical version shows that this movie actually has potential (now whether you can stand remakes in general is another thing).

Jason Momoa plays the title role here and at first, I wasn’t sure if he was the right person to wield the blade, but he’s won me over, especially after seeing the actor recently in HBO’s new series Game Of Thrones.

Conan the Barbarian, which will be released on August 19, 2011, stars Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis, Game of Thrones), Rose McGowan (Scream, Grindhouse), Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Blade II), Stephen Lang (Avatar, Tombstone), Said Taghmaoui (Vantage Point, Three Kings), and Rachel Nichols (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Star Trek).

Synopsis

“I live. I love. I slay”¦I am content.” – Conan The Barbarian

The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination- in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Deftly adapted from the original works of Robert E. Howard and faithful to the mythology and psychology of his iconic character, CONAN THE BARBARIAN stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman and Rose McGowan, and is directed by Marcus Nispel.

  1. I’d really like to know what part of Jason Momoa’s performance in Game Of Thrones makes one think he will be good in this. So far, all he does is grunt and f*ck. Plus, Game Of Thrones has been a complete let down for me. Boooring.

  2. Hope it doesn’t suck.
