DC Comics Powers Up With USA Network For ‘Burn Notice’ Comic

Are you a fan of DC Comics? Great! Do you love Burn Notice? Even better!

It was recently announced that USA Network is teaming up with DC Comics to bring us a new series of comics that will piece together what happens between seasons four and five of Burn Notice. The title of this new series will be called “A New Day.”

The show’s creator Matt Nix and the creative team for Burn Notice are writing the comic book series. It contain ways to interact with the comic, offering the readers the chance to experience interactive games, as well as hidden ciphers and artwork peelaways, among other things.

A New Day, the first-of-its kind interactive comic book, gives fans insight into the series’ first-ever time jump. During last season’s finale, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) obtained a list of 31 people responsible for “burning” him, but when fans return this season only two will be left. The comic reveals the missing pieces over 12 weeks through an original story. With custom illustrations from comic book powerhouse DC Comics, the comic book features original video, unique interactive features and gaming content with new chapters launching each week throughout the season.

According to the press release, the Burn Notice: A New Day graphic novel will have the following features:

* Each new issue will include new interactive games, ciphers and advice from your friendly spymaster
* “Peelaways” revealing the multiple steps of the art process including pencil, ink and color layers
* Exclusive video such as preview clips and interviews with Matt Nix
* Burn Wire: newsfeed featuring BURN NOTICE related Facebook and Twitter feeds
* Real time connections to BURN NOTICE Chatter with unprecedented access to communications with other fans and the network
* Detailed character profiles and photos of the characters from the show
* Share comic book panels and comments via Twitter, Facebook or Chatter

To read the graphic novel, it you can go to www.usanetwork.com, Facebook, or an app available on some iOS and Android devices; Chapters 1 and 2 have already been released.

This will be what I am sure is going to be the first in a new line of ways to read comics. If you are a fan of DC Comics and a Burn Notice enthusiast, then this will be something for you to check out, as well as myself. I look forward to seeing what this brings to the table and how it will enhance the future of comics.
