New Trailer For ‘Footloose’ Remake Hits

With films like Black Snake Moan and Hustle & Flow to his name, director Craig Brewer seems like the perfect filmmaker to take on a remake of Footloose, right?

Well, how odd that may in fact sound, come October 14, 2011, we’ll be getting a chance to see just what Brewer has to offer thanks to his quite talked about remake. However, while we wait, we have a brand new trailer to check out and I must say, the film looks, for lack of a better word, intriguing.

Watch the new trailer here below.

I am a huge fan of Brewer as a filmmaker, and honestly, with his love for music, the idea of him taking on this remake is a perfect fit. I don’t know if this film really needed to be remade, but then again, I frankly don’t find the original movie to be all that great. It’s a horribly cliché film, and one that really doesn’t stand the test of time. It’s the epitome of a film that should be remade, and hopefully Brewer is the man to do just that.

What do you think?

  1. They really did not add anything to the classic! I really can’t believe it. They even used the original framing as well. Hollywood really needs to grow some balls and come up with something new and creative!
