Sebastian Bach Kicking & Screaming

Amazon is currently offering up the mp3 version of the Sebastian Bach song “Kicking & Screaming” from his upcoming album of the same name for FREE.

Yes, FREE. Just follow the link and download the song and then it’s yours, you own it. But grab it now, as it’s the Free Song of the Day offer, which means it’s only available for free today, Sunday, September 4, 2011, til 11:59PM PST.

The album Kicking & Screaming, which will be released on September 27, 2011, is available for pre-order now on CD, CD+DVD, and MP3 Download. The CD and MP3 versions contain 13 tracks. The CD+DVD has the 13 songs, plus one bonus track, as well as a DVD with behind the scenes footage of the recording of the album, live footage from Bach’s tours opening for Guns ‘N Roses, and 3 music videos.

If you’re unsure of who Sebastian Bach is, he’s the former lead singer of heavy metal band Skid Row (“Youth Gone Wild,” “I Remember You,” “18 and Life”), and he’s also appeared on several reality TV series, including VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club. After leaving Skid Row in 1996, Bach begin his solo music career and continues to make music and tour while pursuing his other projects, such as the aforementioned television series, as well as several stints on Broadway.

Let me point out again, this song is FREE. Plus, Sebastian Bach is awesome and so is his music. If you’re a heavy metal fan, definitely grab this free download and then check out the entire album when it comes out later this month.

  1. You have to download Amazon’s mp3 downloader software to download the mp3. Just use bit torrent and avoid the unnecessary hoops.

  2. It’s unfair to the artist to direct people to torrent their stuff. The song is free only for today and I’m sure that how many downloads it gets will help the artist as far as promotion and as far as other sites like this spotlighting him. Also, maybe if someone likes the free song, they will order the entire album — which, btw, isn’t out yet (so they can pre-order it).

And you can LISTEN to the song through Amazon’s mp3 player right on their site and it saves it to your account – if you don’t have even download it if you don’t want to. But, if you do want to download it so you can own it and put it on your computer and mp3 player, the amazon software downloads in seconds and it’s easy.  I don’t see how going to bit torrent is avoiding “unnecessary hoops.”

  4. You have your ways I have mine. I pay for my material, i’m not a pirate. But I am also a huge computer nerd and I know unnecessary when see it. Forcing people to use your proprietary software for the simplest of things so they can market more materials and track my usage is not acceptable. As consumers we can only speak through our purchases and how we make them and this is my way of telling them I don’t agree to their methodology.
If you think that adding the mp3 to your cart, going through checkout to get the program, downloading and installing it, then downloading the song is easier than getting the torrent and being done with it then more power to you.
Oh and if the album isn’t out yet how can I be telling people to pirate it? How many downloads it gets is not an accurate representation of the music. I thought it sucked and I instantly deleted it yet I will still be counted as a “sale.” And because it is free that would inflate its value so again it is not a fair representation of potential sales figures.
Just some thoughts off the top of my head.
Remember to be informed, it is one of the few avenues available to us.

  5. Wow! Saw this in my inbox and first thing that popped into my head was “whos the ugly chick”standing next to the word “B*TCH?” Then I realized it was Sebastian Bach and that his name is spelled out using an incredibly horrible font. Someone needs to replace the font on his last name!

Also, have to completely agree about the merits of downloading this MP3 through Amazon. It’s FREE through Amazon with the added bonus of being completely legal. If it’s a choice between that and installing Bit Torrent to download a questionable (probably unauthorized) pre-release version of the same MP3, seems like a no-brainer to go with Amazon! Support the artist.
