First, promo art, and now, a cavalcade of set photos.

No matter what may happen, one thing is always going to be true. The Avengers will be fodder for hard news stories like casting, as well as softer stories like out of context, standard set photos. Thanks to the fine folks over at SuperHeroHype, there’s a new collection of set photos from the upcoming film, and they look, well, like another batch of set photos.

The new photos show show stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and more at the outdoor set in New York.

As a fan of the cast and particularly this film’s director, Joss Whedon, hopes are definitely high for this project. I think each of Marvel’s projects have been getting better and better, and think that it’s leading up to what could very well be an all-time classic comic book property.

The cast is fantastic, Whedon is the right man for the gig, and based on these set photos, the film will definitely have some style. That said, it is quite hard to get jazzed for a film based solely off of some set photos. However, when it comes to The Avengers, it is a whole different story.
