Juan Carlos Fresnadillo Helming ‘Highlander’ Remake
  |

How fast does it take for a remake to go from mildly intriguing to quite interesting? A matter of one single news story.

With Justin Lin attached to the long talked about remake of Highlander one could definitely be interested. However, as Lin becomes something of a hot commodity in the film world, a new director is needed, and apparently, that director is none other than Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

Who’s Fresnadillo you may be asking? Well, as the director of 28 Weeks Later, Fresnadillo is quite a well respected up and coming filmmaker, and one with a distinct sense of style. Personally, while I’m not a huge fan of the original film, a remake does seem a bit odd, but since it is being placed in Fresnadillo’s hands, one has to at least have a tad bit of excitement. He’s a really great filmmaker, and despite a collection of writers being put on the script, this is sounding like it could be something quite interesting.
