Rob Halford’s Motorcycle Malfunction: You Can’t Keep A Metal God Down
  |

Rob Halford is the Metal God, and with good reason. The lead singer of metal legends Judas Priest, currently on their final tour entitled Epitaph, recently had a bit of a fall off his motorcycle onstage, when riding on during the band’s performance of “Hell Bent For Leather.” The true metal professional that he is, Halford gets right back up again and continues kicking it with the band onstage. View video footage of the incident at the bottom of this post.

Some people might have a chuckle at such stage errors happening to most rock stars, and some of them rightly so – many of the “prima donnas” out there (Axl Rose, Sebastian Bach, etc.) storm off stage in huffs and refuse to perform. Halford, on the other hand, who could have been fairly injured in such an accident, just gets right up with no fuss or drama – and then it’s on with the show for the fans. The video was shot during the band’s concert in Brasilia, Brazil on September 15, 2011.

Halford has had a long career in metal, with Judas Priest, but also with many solo-driven projects including Fight, 2wo, and his self-titled Halford band. Across his long history, Rob is revered as an icon among metalheads, becoming known for his vocal dexterity on songs across all his projects such as “Electric Eye,” “The One You Love To Hate,” and “Into The Pit” among many.

Judas Priest is currently on their final world tour – while the band have stated this is their last one, they have left the door open for future and further collaborations and recordings. The tour was marked with K.K. Downing‘s retirement from the band, which was followed by the announcement that Richie Faulkner had joined the band to step in his place.
