Apparently Justin Lin is just too hot for one of cinema’s most storied franchises.
After being connecting to the project for some time, Deadline is reporting that Lin has left the upcoming Terminator installment, which is slated to feature the film’s icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Lin will be working on a new Fast And The Furious project, which is slated to shoot in 2012, in the same slot as Terminator.
Personally, while I wasn’t a huge fan of the last installment of the Terminator series, I did have quite the hope for a Lin-directed take on the franchise, something that I can’t really say for McG’s horrible piece. Now, if the schedule ultimately permits, things appear to be fine between the two camps, allowing for Lin to return to the project if he has the chance. That would be the ideal case, but at this point, it doesn’t seem likely.

Better Lin at this point than anyone I can think of at the moment, but maybe 4 is enough? I thought 2 was enough… Excited for Fast6 though!
