Series Six of Doctor Who continues, with the Doctor (Matt Smith) and companions, Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), arrive in a mysterious cliched 1980’s Earth hotel. But not everything is as it seems – the Doctor detects the scenery to be an imitation, and as they find other people in the hotel, they discover it is an unending labyrinth that shapeshifts and changes.
More significantly is that there seems to be a hotel room for each person, within which it contains their deepest and darkest fears. But beyond these bad dreams personified is a deeper evil, something feeding on more than just fear itself…
During TARDISblend 39, we review the events of The God Complex, and look at the unexpected closing of the show, which directly leads in to the next episode, Closing Time, featuring the return of Craig and Sophie Owen (James Corden and Daisy Haggard).
We also speculate on what was in the Doctor’s hotel room, Room 11, and explore the history behind the Minotaur culture responsible for the hotel. Also, don’t talk to the clown! Later, we make some Classic Doctor Who recommendations, and discuss what YOU had to say in comments on previous episodes.
All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!
Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The Social Blend Podcast) and Tom Cheredar (Tched from The Drill Down Podcast) TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Matt Smith makes his journey as the Eleventh Doctor!
hey guys im still wondering at the end of the series where the dr did big bang 2. he managed to use the tardis exploshion to restart the universe thats great cus i had a piece if cheese that i really wanted to eat the universe still being here certanly helps with that. my question is why was the tardis exploding it never really explaned it. i think the dream lord or the valeyard might be behind this as the dr says to keep something alive all you have to do is remember it any thoughts ? ( fell free to ignore my cheese comment if you read this out lol. ) great show guys Â
So, you guys dont get Confidential? So here we are getting to the heart of the problem. The beeb is cutting off its nose to spite its face. Because it means that major fans have to resort to other methods to see this stuff, thus deminishing viewing figures in the long run.
I am not trying to defend the latest outing of Torchwood, but I think poor UK viewing figures were helped along by the fact that it was broadcast a week later than the States, thus diehard fans resorting to such methods, because they were wanting it immediatly.
But on a more positive note, I’m loving the wind down of this DW series. Even more so, now I know that we have to wait until next autumn (fall) for the next series, well apart from two specials at xmas and Easter.
So enjoy the finally guys and then we’ll not hear your dulcet tones until Xmas ;(
All the best
