The Yuuzhan Vong are coming! That is everyone’s fear in Star Wars: Invasion-Revelations #3.

Imagine Nina’s surprise when she realizes that not only is her mother a Yuuzhin Vong, but so is she. As if that wasn’t enough, there is another Yuuzhin Vong about the size of a tomato that has called in her forces, and now everyone is in a panic, because well, they have to evacuate the planet or they are all going to die.

Apparently the Yuuzhin Vong are not to be messed with. A call for help is made to Admiral Blysma, who tries to get some from the Republic, but he is denied as it is a “regional concern” and this is where the book gets good.

The Admiral places a call to anyone that can hear asking for help. It is a very inspiring speech, about how they have been abandoned by the New Republic, and they have to defend their galaxy on their own. Many answer the call, including a pirate, which is cool. Will they be able to evacuate the planet in time? We’ll have to find out in the next issue.

The writing in this book is solid, keeping all the pieces moving that need to. Artist Colin Wilson does a good job as well bringing the Universe to life. Definitely a good Star Wars book, even if it does take place in a time period that I am less than familiar with. I rate it a 4 out of 5.

I do have a question though. Why so little lightsabers in these Star Wars books? The last one I reviewed had zero, this one had a lightsaber light up for one panel. Now I understand that you can’t do all lightsabers all the time, but come on! Give me something to work with people. I need something to act out in my backyard whilst frightening the neighbors.
