NBC comedy television show Community recently included a very short parody/rip-off/tribute (choose your label) to Doctor Who. The clip shows a Doctor-like character called Inspector SpaceTime, who travels through history, and includes a Dalek-like villain. Community was created by Dan Harmon and features Joel McHale and Chevy Chase. The show is known for its numerous pop culture references, parodies, and gags.

The inclusion of the Doctor Who spoof is yet another indication of how popular the long-running British sci-fi series has become in the United States. Series 6 of Doctor Who has been a major success for the BBC and BBC America this year.

Doctor Who reached its season finale over the weekend, and will be reviewed on an upcoming TARDISblend episode. The Doctor Who Christmas Special 2011 is currently in production, and there are rumors that there will be an Easter Special in 2012 before Series 7 launches later in the year.
