What’s next after this?
Just when you thought the remake/reboot craze couldn’t get crazier, Deadline is reporting that Sony has hired writers Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia to write a new take on the Zorro franchise, which would be based off of a novel penned by Isabel Allende, from 2005.
The last film, The Legend Of Zorro, came out in that same year, so while it has been a good chunk of time since we last saw the masked hero, he’s not really a character that seems to have much weight within the current film world. Now, that all said, I think this type of adventure film, if taken a different way than say “gritty” or “realistic,” could be really fun, and a great change of pace in the action film world. My hopes aren’t insanely high, but at this point, anything is possible, so here’s to hoping. Right?

I liked the Antonio Banderas versions and I don’t think we need to see Zorro again for a long time. Thanks for keeping it fresh, Hollywood. You are clearly out of ideas.
I’ve got an idea. Why don’t you re-do “Zorro: The Gay Blade?”
