DC Comics and comiXology are offering you a special deal this weekend, a deal in which you can digitally purchase all of the 15 released issues of DC Universe Online Legends for a mere 99 cents a piece! Woo baby!
That’s right folks! The comic book tie-in to a Massively Multiplay Online video game that’s based on a comic book universe is ON SALE! Oh, you’ve no experience with DC Universe Online? Well, let’s give a little backstory…
DC Comics announced a comic book bridge to explain why things are happening the way they are in the Sony PS3 and PC MMO where villains and heroes have to team up and fight a greater foe. And that was the idea behind the comic. The comic is written by the team of Marv Wolfman and Tony Bedard with art by Adriana Melo and Howard Porter, so there’s a lot of talent on this book for a very low price.
I’ve read some of this book, and while it was a decent read, a lot of it seemed pointless because I wasn’t playing the game and kind of didn’t care enough to spend the six dollars a month it cost to stay in touch with the series. It was a bi-weekly series at three bucks an issues, and I just couldn’t keep up while I was reading everything else. BUT! Now that each of these issues are only 99 cents, I’ll probably give it a shot because I honestly liked what I read, and I’m willing to bet that you will, too. It kind of reads as an Elseworld’s tale, which is always great, and with DCUO becoming free at the end of the month, I’m a lot more interested than I was before.
So, if you’re getting more interested with this story, head over to DC’s digital store front, or over to comiXolgy to get an awesome deal on some really cool comics. And don’t forget! The sale ends on Sunday at midnight. After that, you gotta shell out the extra buck. Get on it, buttercup!
