Scream Awards 2011 Video: Wins For ‘Doctor Who’, ‘True Blood,’ ‘Game Of Thrones’
  |  @   |

At the 2011 Spike TV Scream Awards, Doctor Who, True Blood, and Game Of Thrones all took home Spikes in various categories.

Game of Thrones won for Best TV Show, with star Peter Dinklage winning for Best Supporting Actor; Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith took home the Best Science Fiction Actor; and True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello took home the Spike for Breakout Male Performance and his fans took very kindly to his hot-blooded acceptance speech.

You can see the video of the aforementioned awards acceptances here below.

Doctor Who

Matt Smith, who plays the 11th Doctor on the long-running TV series Doctor Who, came up to accept the award wearing a Beastie Boys shirt. “It’s groovy to be here and win this award,” he said.

Game Of Thrones

Ron Perlman presented the Best TV Show award to Game Of Thrones. To accept the award were stars Sean Bean and Lena Headey, who appeared on stage seated in the famous Iron Throne, with Headey not only sitting on Bean’s lap, but with Bean holding two Spike awards up to her breasts. (See it all in the video just below.) Their co-star Peter Dinklage won for Best Supporting Actor, but wasn’t there in person to get his Spike. A big digital projection of his head came up from the pool on stage and the actor said he was busy in Croatia filming Season 2 of the series, stating that we’ll all enjoy Season 2 (no video of Dinklage’s speech is available at this time).

True Blood

True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello was on hand to accept his award for Breakout Male Performance, walking up to the stage to the show’s popular theme song, “Bad Things.” Once at the mic, the actor growled like his on-screen werewolf character, and said “…and no I will not stop making that noise.” His fans in the audience seemed to love that, as well as his heartfelt thanks to all the “furbangers.” In conclusion, the breakout star said, “”Werewolves do it in the daylight, baby!” See the video of that here just below.
