Karl Urban and Ben Barnes Replace Matthew Goode and Alex Pettyfer In ‘Overdrive’
  |

People just can’t get enough of their car-focused action dramas.

THR is reporting that the team of Ben Barnes, Karl Urban, and Emilia Clarke have all joined the cast of the upcoming film, Overdrive, which itself is set to be produced by one Luc Besson.

The film was originally set to find Matthew Goode and Alex Pettyfer in the Urban/Barnes roles, but has apparently been shaken up, with the Game Of Thrones star Clarke tossed in for good measure. Story wise, the film will follow the story of two brothers who get into hot water with a crime boss after moving to the south of France.

I’m not a huge fan of Pettyfer as an actor, but both Urban and Clarke have more than proven themselves with their body of work, particularly the latter, whose work on as Daenerys Targaryen on Thrones was revelatory. Besson obviously has a great track record behind him, so here’s to hoping that this sucker can live up to the potential it so rightly has.

What do you think?

  1. Actually I would have preferred the cast announced before. I had this movie on the short list of movies I must see in the cinema. After the cast change I deleted it from the list.
