Watch The Red-Band Trailer For Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s ’21 Jump Street’

As a person who has actually never seen an episode of 21 Jump Street, I must say, while my expectations for a film adaptation weren’t all that high, this red-band trailer definitely proves that they should be raised quite a bit.

Directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, as two cops turned high school students who go on the hunt for a supplier of narcotics, who has brought in a new synthetic drug to the school.

Now, while the writer Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim) is behind the pen here, hopes for the film were never too high, but this decidedly R-rated trailer is rather solid. This writer isn’t too over the moon about it, but both Tatum and Hill look fantastic here, and there are genuinely a few solid chuckles to be had. Ice Cube steals his moments here, and it should be the case when the full film comes, and I like the bit about them joining a program revived from the ’80s. Just cool stuff like that makes this writer a lot more interested in the project.

What do you think?
