Showtime Reaches Deal With Michael C. Hall, Orders Two More Seasons Of ‘Dexter’
  |  @   |

For a while it looked like season 6 of Showtime’s hit original series, Dexter, could be its last. But everyone’s favorite serial killer with a code and one of Miami’s finest blood analysts is not ready to settle down quite yet.

It’s being reported that after some rough waters during the negotiation process, Showtime and star Michael C. Hall have come to an agreement on a new two-year deal, which means…you guessed it: two new seasons of Dexter!

The new deal ensures a season 7 and season 8 of the series, which follows Dexter Morgan (Hall), a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who leads a double-life as a serial killer with a strict code that only allows him to quench his near-insatiable need to kill with those guilty of very bad things.

Sadly, at the moment, this also means that season 8 might just be the final season of Dexter. It’s still two years or so off and it was thought that season 6 would be the last, so we’ll have to wait and see, but showrunner David Nevins spoke of the possibility saying “I’m not going to say with absolute certainty that this is the end, but that is the likely scenario, that the series is moving towards a definite end.”
