Harrison Ford To Join ‘Ender’s Game’? Asa Butterfield To Star
  |

It may focus on a younger lead, but Ender’s Game is a film that even the most senior of thespians are looking to join.

Variety is reporting that Harrison Ford is being eyed for the role of Colonel Hyrum Graff, the Commander Of Training for the International Fleet. Hugo‘s Asa Butterfield has been confirmed as the star of the upcoming film, which will be directed by Gavin Hood, and penned by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.

While I myself have actually never read the book, I can say that Ford’s involvement is really interesting. I think it’s about time he gets involved with some projects that are a bit more intriguing, and this is definitely that. I wasn’t hugely impressed by Butterfield in Hugo, so it remains to be seen as to just how strong he’ll be as a lead here, but overall, this is a piece that really can’t get here quick enough. It’s been rolling around for years now, so hopefully this means we’ll finally get to see the damn thing.

What do you think?

  1. Scott Card is a writer and screenwriter.  Why have someone else write it?  Maybe that is why it never got off the ground before—because it needs a hollywood outside take.  Maybe.
