‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 1 Blu-ray Details Revealed

When it comes to anticipated home entertainment releases, very few have the hype of Game Of Thrones.

Having become one of the most popular TV shows of the new year, one would expect a DVD and Blu-ray release for Season 1 to be as epic as the subject matter. And those of you who plan on buying this monster will not be disappointed.

The release hits on March 6, 2012, one can expect one of the most extensive releases around. Featuring making of documentaries galore, there are a cavalcade of featurettes looking at the making of the show, its source material, and everything else. Seven commentaries are included here as well, making this a super dense release, worthy of a rather dense television series.

While I’ve never seen the show, this will definitely get me interested in checking it out, particularly when one can see so many supplements along with the release. It may be a steep price to pay, but it’s probably going to be more than worth it (though some online shops have much lower pre-order prices right now).

Both the DVD and Blu-ray versions include the first season’s 10 episodes, plus (descriptions are the official text):
