Ever since it was first announced, The Amazing Spider-Man has been something of an oddity. Featuring a great cast including Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, the project also happens to have an odd choice at the helm, 500 Days Of Summer director Marc Webb. Toss in an underwhelming trailer, and you have a movie that’s got some shockingly mixed buzz.
Something not mixed is how dreadfully dull this new poster is.
Coming Soon has the first poster for the film, and it’s basically like all of the previous Spider-Man posters, just a bit more modern. And by that I mean it’s slightly more brooding.
Personally, while I’m not sold on the film yet, I do have rather high expectations for the project, a film that I think could really make one hell of an interesting series. I love the cast and crew here, so while the promotional material has been weak, the potential for greatness is definitely there.
What do you think?

So, how is this movie going to be any different? We’ve seen the Spider-Man origin 8,493 times.

This is a really bad poster. It’s one of those, “I see what they were trying to do, but it didn’t work” kind of things. I’m reminded of the very good Star Wars Episode I teaser poster with the Vader shadow behind Anakin as a kid. That worked. This doesn’t.
