The first two posters for next year’s historical horror-adventure Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter have debuted and you can check them out here below.
Based on the novel by Pride & Prejudice & Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith (who also co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Kinberg) first published last year, the Tim Burton-produced film takes a revisionist look at the legacy of the famous 16th U.S. President (Benjamin Walker) as he grows up to embark on a mission to kill as many bloodsucking creatures of the night as he can after he discovers that his mother was killed by one. As Lincoln is becoming a feared vampire slayer he also rises in prominence as a politician and future president, and later finds that the defining moments of his life and political career are all tied to the rising vampire threat in the still-young United States.
Timur Bekmambetov, the Russian filmmaker responsible for the films Night Watch and the 2008 comic adaptation Wanted, directs his first American feature in four years. The supporting cast is top-heavy with genre favorites including Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Rufus Sewell (Dark City), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World), Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker), and Alan Tudyk (Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil).
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens on June 22, 2012.
