Hideo Kojimaa, video game godfather and creator of the Metal Gear franchise, has only spoken briefly on a game he’s been developing being called Project Ogre until now, but recently he shared some intriguing details on game.

Speaking with CNN, Kojima described the game as an open-world experience, giving his players the freedom to wander and explore that they don’t have in his other games. He even posted a picture to his Twitter account (seen above) that many speculate is from Project Ogre as opposed to a new Metal Gear Solid title, which is also down the road (not counting Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance—a game that Kojima is only a producer on and not as directly involved in making).

Describing Project Ogre, Kojima said:

He also said that there will be much to do, allowing the player to explore freely, find their own adventures, and still be enjoying even if it’s 100 hours into the game.

The question is do Kojima fans WANT a massive open-world game from him, or do they really just want him to focus on the stealth-based Metal Gear Solid games he’s mastered?

Personally, as a fan of open-world experiences, I’m very much excited to see what a game of that size from a man as renowned as Kojima will look like.
