This recently released limited edition Lord of the Rings Pez Gift Set comes with 8 themed dispensers and 12 rolls of candy. The dispensers are Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Gollum.
I find the choice of characters interesting. I mean, why those 8 characters? I would think the 9 members of the Fellowship should have been in the set, that would have made sense. Yes, Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, and Aragon are a given, but if Legolas and Gimli are there, why not Pippin and Merry too? And poor Boromir! I think we can deduce why a minor character (for LoTR that is) like Bilbo would be there — to tie into the upcoming Hobbit movies, where Bilbo is the main character. And well, you gotta have Gollum — another character who’ll play a role in The Hobbit movies.
Some of the characters look better than others here, but you know what would have been really awesome? A Sauron dispenser!
Anyhow, 1) I laughed my ass off when I opened this gift, and 2) Santa [aka my parents] really know me very well. I totally love my LoTR Pez set and no, I’m totally not opening the box (that’s a photo of my gift here above).
I got one too and was so excited! Only mine included the Eye of Sauron which I believe was a Walmart exclusive. It took every ounce of strength not to open the box!
Congrats! I got one too! But it had the Eye of Sauron in it, which really stoked me!

I was going to say I’ve seen one with the Eye of Sauron. Upon seeing blythe’s comment, I recall that the set I saw was at Wal-Mart. I am jealous! I really thought my parents or sisters or a friend (basically anyone who knows me) would have got this for me for Christmas. Guess I’ll have to pick one up myself.
