Mark Pavia Working On Stephen King Anthology Film
  |

Be it a horror story like The Shining or a pure drama like Stand By Me, writer Stephen King, while not being this person’s favorite author, does have one of the more expansive libraries around. And now writer/director Mark Pavia will attempt to prove that.

The filmmaker recently spoke with Icons Of Fright, and revealed that he’s set to start production on an anthology film based on four short stories penned by King, with the author choosing two, and then Pavia choosing two. Sounds intriguing enough.

Personally, while I’m not a huge fan of King or his work, I do really miss the anthology film, as I think it’s a fine way to tell a series of stories, in the guise of one film. Most of the time they are rather lackluster, but occasionally you get a top tier film, I’m thinking of something like Paris Je T’aime. Here’s to hoping that this one could be a fine piece of work. Fingers crossed.

  1. While I haven;t read nearly as much King as I would like, I respect him as a writer, and even more as an innovator, always trying to push the boundaries of publishing and writing and paving the way for other experimental fiction and media.

    Smiles!
